May is Internal Audit Month

May is Internal Audit Awareness Month—a time not just to celebrate the profession, but to amplify it. Internal auditing has never been more vital to organizations navigating risk, resilience, and rapid change. But awareness doesn’t happen on its own. It takes us—practitioners, educators, and leaders—to step forward and advocate for our profession.

Imagine if every internal auditor took one action this month to promote awareness. Whether it’s sharing your career story on LinkedIn, mentoring a student, or simply explaining to a friend what you really do—small actions can ripple out in powerful ways. We have an opportunity to reshape perceptions and attract the next generation of bold, curious thinkers into our field.

As part of this month’s celebration, I’m thrilled to share two special offers from the projects I’ve been building to support the internal audit community:

  • cRisk Academy, which I co-founded, is offering 25% off all professional certifications throughout May. If you’ve been waiting to earn that next credential, now’s the time. Just apply the coupon code ‘MAY2025’ at checkout.
  • PyAudit, my solo venture focused on Python and data analytics training for auditors, is offering 50% off all courses and bundles for the entire month of May. Just apply the coupon code ‘IAMONTH2025’ at checkout.

I’m also actively developing CPETracker, a tool to make continuing professional education easier and smarter to manage—because we deserve better tools for staying audit-ready.

This month holds even deeper meaning for me personally: after 8.5 amazing years at a company I loved, I made the decision to leave and rejoin the internal audit profession. It feels like coming home. And now, more than ever, I’m committed to giving back, building tools, and mentoring the next wave of audit talent.

So here’s my call to you: don’t let Internal Audit Month pass quietly. Post. Speak. Share. Advocate. We’re only as strong as the voices behind the work—and this May, those voices should be loud and proud. You can these hashtags so we can find each other.
